6 Ways to make money in college

College can be very demanding. You have 15+ hours of class a week, dozens of study hours, throw in a social life and you will barely have any time to yourself. Here are the top 6 ways you can make a little extra money in college, no one likes a broke college student!

  1. Get a real job. This is the most obvious and traditional way of course. You’ll likely be paid around 8 dollars an hour. If you can scrounge up 15 hours a week you should easily clear 100 bucks a week after taxes.
  2. Be a tutor! Many colleges allow you to work in the library or study center for a nice chunk of cash. You will need to have good grades to qualify and not all colleges offer this but it is an option for many.
  3. Work online. Many sites, such as elance.com and freelancer.com allow people to work online for cash. You can write articles for someone to be published online or do any other sorts of tasks. If you are computer savvy this could be a great option for you. You should make anywhere between 6-15 dollars an hour depending on the circumstances.
  4. Create your own website and attempt to profit from it. This is not the easiest option but it is a lucrative one if you do it right. You can sell advertising on your site if it becomes popular enough!
  5. Sell your stuff on Ebay. You’d be surprised by the worth of your “trash”. There has to be 6-10 items that are fairly valuable that you do not use anymore. This is a great way to scrounge up a few hundred dollars but it is obviously not a long term solution.
  6. Get a paid internship. This could be the best option for most. You will get real world experience in whatever field you are studying and you could get paid a decent amount of money weekly. An internship is a great way to network with people in your field and get valuable experience.
