Chinese stock market

The Chinese stock market is called the Shanghai stock exchange.

The common saying is that England was the country of the 19th century, the United States was the country of the 20th century, and China is the country of the 21st century. I could not agree more. China has well over a billion people, is no longer completely communist and has an ever growing middle class. This is not to mention that they are growing their GDP at an amazing 7-9% each year. A little dose of capitalism can do wonders.

If you want to invest in Chinese companies do not worry about buying them through the Chinese stock market. There are hundreds of Chinese companies that are traded over here in the United States. Make sure to do your research however, just because these companies do their business in China does not mean that their prices will rise exponentially. Treat them like you would any other company you would consider investing in.

Another way to “buy” a piece of China’s growing economy is to invest in companies that are based in America that do a lot of their business in China. Walmart, McDonalds, and Coke all do a lot of business in China as well as other Asian countries.
