Stock market for kids
Getting kids involved in the stock market and investing in general is a great idea. Kids need to learn how to save, invest, and grow money responsibly. In schools they teach all of the major subjects but seem to refuse to “touch” the whole money management issue which may be one of the most important things to learn.
I can think of two great ways to get your kids involved in the stock market and to keep them interested.
The first way is pretty simple. Buy your kids stock in one or several companies. However much you can afford. Check the price of the stock weekly with your kid and before long you should have a positive return on your investment. Your kid[s] should catch on by then and see that the stock market is an excellent place to put money into.
Another great way to get your kids interested in the stock market is to watch the price of stocks that your kids are interested in. Check the price of Disney and Abercrombie weekly for example, companies that your kid will be familiar with.
Not all kids are cut out to be great investors. But it is important that they understand money and they do smart things with the money that they have.
